Black Overarm Leather Project Bag, On the Go Bag – Small

This bag has seen some major changes. It used to feature a rectangular base but now has an oval base that not only uses a little less leather, it is more straight forward to sew together. Which in my books is a win win!

It can hold two cakes of yarn and sits on a surface much easier. The changes came about while watching TV recently, something just made me think to combine the over the arm main pieces with an oval or circle base like my yarn bowls. After piecing and sewing the main front and back top parts together, I rifled through my pattern pieces, came across an oval for a handbag I’ve made in the past. Thought that would be a good starting point, but crazily it ended up matching perfectly. It was truly a serendipitous moment.

Perfect size project bag to knit socks or a toque out of.

• Made from new leather
• Two snaps at the top of the handles undo if you would like to attach the bag to an armchair or similar
