# 3 Crossbody Handbag – Seafoam + Navy Strap

I designed the #3 Crossbody in June 2023 when I was looking for a new shape of hand bag. It turned out to be the third design, hence why I named it #3.

I had the idea that a saddlebag shape would be nice, went routing through my leather stash and found a piece of leather in a perfect saddle bag shape. I copied the shape onto a piece of card, cut a second piece of leather for the front and set about sewing it up. This design ended up being #1.

It was an interesting make because I problem solved as I went which was very different to my normal process. Most times when I’m designing I have a clear idea of every element. This was different. I posted about that bag and it immediately sold, a lovely lady fell in love with it and asked her husband to buy it as her birthday present.

Next for design #2 I had a piece of mint green leather that originally was going to be made into a waist bag, but the zipper broke. So I carefully took the zipper off, cut it down to size a little, cut a second piece of leather for the back. The gusset ended up being grey because I ran out of leather.

It was a pretty bag, but I felt I wanted a more uniform rounded shape, so I tweaked the original pattern which ended up being the #3.

Features:

• Outer pocket featuring rivets at high pressure point to prevent stiches breaking
• Outer pocket closes with a magnetic snap
• Brass chunky zipper with an 8 1/2″ opening
• Internal leather D ring to attach keys or other items to
• Adjustable bag strap that I can set up with the buckle at the front or back according to which side you wear your bag on
• Length of bag strap can be customized
