Thread
- The suede Toes and Heels do not come with thread as many people choose to use their own materials. If you need waxed thread, then please add the specific size and colour of thread you would like from the selections above.
- Suggestions of thread: Artificial Sinew, Waxed Thread, Sock yarn that contains nylon.
- I typically measure once around each of the suede pieces and then multiple 8 times if you use the stitch I demonstrate in the YouTube video. If you choose to do another stitch then you will have to figure out what length you will need for each of the suede pieces.
Notes
- Slipper Toes and Heels are made from 3-4 oz premium suede.
- Please note that both the shapes and the holes are crafted by hand, which means minor variations may exist between individual soles.
- Suggested shoe sizes are provided; however, compare the toe and heel measurements to your slippers. For slippers made with finer yarn, consider opting for a smaller size.
- Typical characteristics found in natural leather, including and not limited to: scrapes and healed scars, fat wrinkles, skin blemishes and bug bites, colour and grain variation
- I make every effort to represent the product digitally as close to the original as possible, but please allow for slight color variance due to the differences in computer monitors.
Aftercare
- Suede naturally develops a smooth patina over time. To restore grip, gently rub the smooth area with a small piece of medium to fine-grit sandpaper (120-180), taking care to avoid the stitching.
- To wash your slippers, first use a suede brush or similar tool to remove any loose dirt. Prepare a solution of lukewarm water and a small amount of lanolin wool wash. Submerge the slippers and allow them to soak for a few minutes. To remove excess water, roll the slippers in a towel and gently squeeze. Finally, stuff the slippers with newspaper and let them air dry completely.
